Classification of quail battery cages
1. The production house. The quail production house can be used for civilian residences. It can also be used for the transformation of idle chicken houses and warehouses, including brooding houses, quail egg-laying houses, hatching houses, feed production workshops and storage rooms. In the quail battery cage, the water and electricity are required to be normal, and to prevent the entry of mice. There is a ceiling for heat preservation, cold protection, anti-virus, cooling and ventilation performance. Exhaust fans are installed according to the ventilation situation and area. The ground is preferably cement ground, which is convenient for flushing, cleaning and disinfection, and also prevents the invasion of insects, rats and ants.
2. Brooding cages. The brooding cage can be made of metal material, or it can be composed of wood and metal mesh. The brooding cage consists of 2 to 5 layers, and two or three layers are more suitable. The brooding cage can be large or small, usually 1 to 2 square meters per floor. The specifications of each layer of the brooding cage are: 150 cm long, 80 cm wide, and 20 cm high, and the distance from the manure board to the quail net is 10 to 15 cm. The quail stencil is designed in one piece, and the whole piece can be taken out and put in, which is convenient for cleaning and disinfection. The bottom mesh is 10mm x 10mm wire mesh, and the surrounding is made of the composite board to make a movable board, which can be installed in one piece and removed in one piece. Each layer consists of a fixed frame, a movable bottom plate, a surrounding movable plate and a movable top net.
3. Quail breeding cage. The specifications of the quail breeding cage are not much different from that of the brooding cage, and the surrounding areas are changed to movable boards made of wooden strips, or movable net blocks made of 2 cm x 2 cm wire mesh, with 2.7 cm of space between the wooden strips, so that the young quails can stick out their heads to eat and drink.
4. Quail cages for egg production. That is, in the quail cage for egg production, the overall design is 5 layers, and the baffles made of wooden strips on both sides of each layer of the cage are movable plates. In the quail stencil, the mesh is 10mm×10mm, and the stencil is high in the middle and low on both sides, with a slope of 7 to 10 degrees, so that the quail eggs can be rolled out automatically. Each group of cages has 5 layers, each layer is 76 cm wide (with each side extending 12 cm, a total of 100 cm), 130 cm long, with an area of about 1 square meter, and each group is 5 square meters. 48 quails were raised in each layer, and 240 quails were raised in each group.
5. The feeding system of the quail battery cage. The brooding trough is made of a thin plate, the specifications are 25 cm long, 15 cm wide, and 2-2.5 cm high (including the thickness of the board).
Selection requirements for quail battery cages
1. Good thermal insulation performance. Quails are temperature sensitive and must be kept warm during the brooding stage. The suitable room temperature for brooding is 30–35 degrees and the temperature for adult quails is 20–25 degrees;
2. The temperature should be reasonable. The relative humidity is generally required to be 55%. The practice has proved that the humid and hot environment can easily induce diseases such as coccidiosis, gastroenteritis and fowl cholera;
3. Good lighting conditions. Sufficient light in the stacked quail cage is an essential condition for raising quails well. Adequate light can promote the metabolism of the body, thereby increasing appetite, increasing the growth rate, and at the same time promoting the sexual maturity of quail quails and improving the egg production rate of quail quails.
Precautions for placing quail battery cages
1. The level of the stacked quail cage and height of each layer is 12 to 15 cm, and the height of the hot spot in the south can be appropriate to increase ventilation. The general level of 5 to 6 floors is 8 to 10 floors and can be seen at a high level, the principle of manual feeding, water supply, separation of feces, and convenience. The stacked quail cage levels are not good in hot areas and low quail sheds. The ceiling distance of the top cage should not be less than 50 cm. If the insulation performance of the roof is poor, the top cage should also increase the distance from the roof. Cold area or high cage shed, the cage layer is better, increasing the density can increase the temperature.
2. The inclination of the bottom of the stacked quail cage has a certain inclination angle, and it can be rolled into the collection tank of quail eggs, which is convenient for taking eggs. If there are 30–35 cm deep in the cage, the gap should be 3 cm to 4 cm at one end of the cage.
3. The width and depth of the quail battery cage should be determined according to the size and arrangement of the quail, and the material of the cage and the size of the bearing can also be considered. The general cage is about 90-100 cm wide. Cages are generally 30 to 35 cm deep, with a “human” bottom (dual slope type) and a depth of 60 cm. Monomers in cages 20 to 25 cm deep. To increase the depth, the water supply and water supply must be sufficient.
4. The cage door is about 10 to 12 cm wide, which is easy to catch quail. Spot welded mesh at the bottom of the cage and in front of the cage. At 1.2-1.3 cm of the net at the bottom of the cage, and in front of the cage walls are the quail’s heads sticking out from the feeding and drinking fountains. The grid is 2.5cm and 5cm as well, or 2 under. cm 5 cm. Other cage walls can be welded wire mesh, woven hexagonal wire mesh, or other optional waste: the top of the layer cage should be covered with a plastic mesh cover.
